Standard

facebook-banner-size-templateEnjoying the hospitality at Mary’s new pad : Louise (a blow-in), Ros, Sharon, Ann, Sandra,  Katie, Lynette, Mary, Trish, Heather, Heidi

Missing in Action : Gabrielle, Catherine

Business : Heather has changed her book choice to Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.  We’ll discuss it in December.   Lynette realised that her initial choice, The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett, is the second in the Discworld series so has also changed titles and we will now be reading The Colour of Magic for June.  Ann’s choice, The Heart Goes Last by Margaret Atwood will be our February 2018 read.

The full list of 2017/2018 choices can be seen here.

Discussion : The very few (3) who had been able to read sufficient of the book to score it, enjoyed the book.  All agreed the start is very disjointed but those who persevered found it an intriguing tale with a strong sense of the period it is set in (from early 1800s).

The Vintner’s Luck by Elizabeth Knox scored 2.8
