97501Listening to this podcast the other day on ABC Local’s Conversations with Richard Fidler. It sounds like a real life adventure along the lines of Harold Fry’s

Broadcast date: Monday 20 October 2014 – Sandy MacKinnon

Sandy was working as a teacher at a school in the English countryside, when he had an idea to sail a small dinghy down the river to meet a friend in Gloucester.

He enjoyed it so much he kept going… and going.

Sandy sailed across England, down the Thames, across the English Channel, through the canals and rivers of Europe and popped out in the Black Sea.

Sandy wrote about it in The Unlikely Voyage of Jack de Crow which was published by Black Inc in 2008
